Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency

H.O.P.E. Partners of Farmington has been recognized by Candid as a PLATINUM Seal of Transparency recipient for 2024. This is an update since November 2024, when we were awarded the Bronze Seal of Transparency.

Organizations achieve Seals of Transparency by sharing detailed information about their mission, leadership and staff, programs, goals, and other key aspects.

Candid provides nonprofits with essential information, resources, training, and data to help them identify funding opportunities, connect with funders likely to support their mission, and increase their visibility to potential donors.

Open House at the Legislative Office Building

Late February, our Meals on Wheels food distributor, CRT, hosted an impactful Open House at the Legislative Office Building. Our Executive Director, Toni Andreoli, along with other dedicated providers, had the invaluable opportunity to engage with state representatives and legislative members about our vital programs.

The seniors we serve are homebound, relying on us to deliver nutritious meals five days a week. But our service goes beyond food delivery; our volunteers provide essential companionship and human connection. We must advocate for these seniors now, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs met. If we don't stand up for them today, who will stand up for us when we need it?

Please contact your federal / state representatives to urge them to protect and sustain funding for Meals on Wheels, ensuring we can continue to support our most vulnerable community members.

In 1965, two visionary women from Farmington, Hope Emery and Dorothy Sinclair, recognized the need to support the seniors in their community. They founded Services for the Elderly (SFE) of Farmington, creating a legacy of hope and care that still shines brightly today.

Nearly 60 years later, we continue to uphold their vision and dedication, building on their legacy every day.

H.O.P.E. Partners of Farmington provide the following services:

Services Open to the General Public:

Congregate Lunch (Open to anyone 60 or older)
Medical Equipment (Open to anyone in CT)

Services for Farmington Residents Only:

Friendly Shopping
Medical Transportation
Meals on Wheels
Forget Me Not Gifts

Recent Accomplishments

Over the past year, we held two significant fundraising events for the first time in our history, raising funds and increasing awareness of our services. Our most recent event was a unique Vintage Fashion Show in collaboration with the Unionville Museum, featuring several community leaders from Farmington.

Meals On Wheels & Congregate Meal Programs: As of April 10th, 2023, we received approval to partner with the Community Renewal Team’s (CRT) Elderly Nutrition Program, supported by the North Central Area Agency on Aging with Title III funds from the Older Americans Act. A $3.00 donation per meal is suggested to help cover costs, but no one is denied a meal if they cannot donate. Our dedicated staff and volunteers delivered 9,852 meals last year.

Forget-Me-Nots: This program offers a wonderful “pick-me-up” to our Farmington homebound seniors and offers opportunities to create friendships. The “Forget-Me Not” program delivered over 850 special gifts to seniors throughout the year. We are grateful to Farmington Community Chest for providing funding for these special packages to remind seniors that they are thought of throughout the year.

Medical Equipment Loan Program: In the fiscal year 2022-2023, Services for the Elderly of Farmington loaned out over 1,000 pieces of medical equipment to individuals across Connecticut and we were also able to give out approximately 300 packages of disposable personal hygiene products.

TANGO’s Impact:

TANGO has provided us with opportunities to connect with other organizations and inspired us to embark on a multi-faceted rebranding campaign. This significant endeavor includes a name change, a new website, and an expansion of our services.

One of our favorite TANGO events is the WTTL networking, held once a month. This women-focused program has allowed our executive director to connect with other women leading nonprofit organizations and gain exposure to various topics such as AI and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training. These important topics help our small nonprofit stay on top of key trends and address barriers within our workplace.

Our New Name!

H.O.P.E. Partners of Farmington is thrilled to embrace our new name, which honors the legacy of our founding member, Hope Emery, while clearly reflecting our mission to Help Others Prosper Every Day.

Our commitment to the community is unwavering, as we collaborate closely with a dedicated team of volunteers, various organizations, and the Town of Farmington to make a positive impact. This rebranding marks a significant step in our journey, reinforcing our dedication to fostering growth, support, and prosperity for every individual we serve.

With H.O.P.E. at the heart of our efforts, we look forward to continuing to build a stronger, more compassionate community together.
